10 Weeks

10 weeks?! Whatttttt?!?

This week you have really grown (in all aspects!) and I love it! I feel like you have literally grown before my eyes, it's amazing! You have really been smiling at us when you look at us and I swear I tear up every time you do it! I can not wait for you to start giggling at the funny ridiculous stuff we do to try to get you to smile :)

It seems like each day you are more interested in your toys than you were the day before! It's starting to get so fun because I'm not playing with your toys by myself.

You were such a champ with your shots this week! You were never 'extra' fussy this week which really surprises me. You're so tough, you must take after your mama ;)

Here are a couple of photos from this week :)

2 Month Check-Up

Yesterday we had her 2 month check-up and I was excited/ dreading this visit! I was so excited to see how much weight she gained and how long she was but it also meant she was going to get 2 shots and an oral vaccine! Ugh..

The other night when we were at my moms house, we all guessed how much she weighed. My guess was 9.2 lbs, Dave's guess was 8.14 lbs, my mom's guess was 8.8 lbs and my dad's guess was 9.6 lbs. Well, she weighed in at.... 9.58 lbs!!! She gained 2.58 lbs in one month! Milk is doing her body good :) She is now 22 inches, up 2 inches from last month. Big girl!

Then it was shot time... I was crying before the nurse was in the room with the needles. Pathetic, I know! The nurse gave her the oral vaccine first, that was all fine and dandy but then it was time for the needles. The nurse wanted me to hold her hands so she doesn't accidentally stick her fingers and she gave her one in one leg and then she hurried and did the second leg. The waterworks were really flowing from both of us at that point! I nursed her as soon as she was done which calmed her down but I was still crying. Haha. I just hated to see my babe in that much pain, it's seriusly the worst!

Her ped told me we could give her Tylenol if she was fussy and in pain last night so of course, I ran out and got her children's Tylenol. I was expecting her to be fussy last night but you wouldn't even know she had shots! What a tough cookie :)

Here are a few snapshots of her today! Enjoy :)

Shopping Trip

We had our first big shopping trip this weekend! We went to Pittsburgh for an all day girls day and Keigan did awesome!!! I was so relieved. She loved looking at all of the lights and wanted to be in on all the shopping action. I had a couple bottles ready for her so that I didn't have to worry about nursing her while we were there but she was too busy looking cute and getting everyones attention that she didn't even want to eat (that is so unlike her!).

My mission of the day was to find her a Christmas outfit. If you don't know already, you have to shop super early for baby outfits because those suckers go fast! My mission failed. Every outfit that I picked up didn't have Keigan's size. I'm not kidding you, every single one! I guess that just means it wasn't meant to be?!

Well, I did start Christmas shopping for her today. We have a couple stocking stuffers and some PJ's so far. I found a toy at Pottery Barn Kids that I found myself playing with the entire time we were there so I figured I'd stuff that in her stocking and hope that she finds it as amusing as I did :)

Although I didn't find her first Christmas outfit, Keigan did find some pretty good deals on some super cute outfits :) I really wish I had her wardrobe!!

She passed out as soon as we got home. She always looks so comfy in her 'bed' that I wish I could crawl in there with her and sleep :)

I hope that this shopping trip was a preview for all of the shopping trips to come because I will have an awesome shopping buddy :)

2 months

Miss Keigan, you are already 2 months old and it feels like just yesterday we brought you home from the hospital! In just 2 months you have learned so much, you are one smart cookie :) You give us real smiles (which they are the cutest in the world!!), you coo and try to talk to us, & you get the hiccups every time you eat! I like to play a game with you when you get the hiccups that whenever you hiccup, I have to give you a kiss. This game can last awhile and sometimes it's hard for me to keep up but at the end you get LOTS of kisses :)

We have your 2 month check-up next week. I'm excited to see how much you've grown but I'm dreading it because I know you have to get a shot (or two)!

Happy 2 months sweet girl :)

1 and 2 Month Favorites

Fisher Price Rock and Play Sleeper:
This thing is amazing! I was told about this by a few different people and they said that I have to have it! This has been Keigan's bed for the past eight weeks and she loves it! It is super light weight and it folds up so you can store it anywhere! It goes in the kitchen when I am cooking, I take it to the bathroom when I get a shower and get ready, it is awesome! I can't say enough good things about this!

Pampers Swaddler Diapers and Sensitive Wipes:
I have not tried any other brand of diapers but theses are great! They don't leak, even when she has a full diaper! I did try the Huggies brand of wipes and I hated them! They would rip and tear when I would pull them out and they seemed to be more rough on Keigan's tush. The pampers sensitive wipes are so soft and don't tear while I'm wiping off her dirty little behind.

Aden and Anais Swaddle Blankets:
I have read so many wonderful reviews about these blankets and this was a last minute buy for me before she got here and I'm SO glad I did! They are amazing and we don't use any other blankets! My favorite thing about them is that they are so big and lightweight and we can really wrap her up like a burrito!

Johnson's Hand and Face Wipes:
These smell like a little piece of heaven! Enough said!

Aveeno Baby Lavender Wash:
I will admit that before she was even here I would go in the bathroom and smell this wash. Omg, it smells so good! We give her a bath every night before bed and she sleeps until morning, this calming wash must really work!

Nuk Pacifiers:
I have tried 3 different brands of pacifiers and these are her favorite! They will actually stay in her mouth where the other ones were too heavy and she couldn't keep them in. She's not dependent on her paci but it does help to calm her down when she is being fussy. Sometimes she will realize that there is no milk coming out of her paci and get really ticked off and starts screaming like a banshee! Poor thing :(

Week 8

In just 8 weeks I have learned so much about you. I know that you like when Mama holds you under your arm and walks you around and sings the most ridiculous songs to you. You love to get baths. You love to look outside or at any light. You make the loudest grunting noises when you are eating. You hate to sleep on your back. You wail when you realize that you were hungry 8 minutes ago ( just like your mama! ). You love to go for walks with me and Sadie. You sleep just like your daddy, mouth wide open and sometimes I even here you snore. I swear you think it's funny when we have your diaper off for .2 seconds and you pee and poop all over your clothes, myself, the changing table, the walls, etc.. You have mixed feelings when I read to you, sometimes you just lay there and listen to me read and other times you cry so loud I can't hear myself think. You love when Sadie gives you kisses.

This week I set you in your bumbo for the first time! You were unsure about it at first but then you just sat there and checked things out, it was so darn cute!

Happy 8 weeks, Keigan Layne!!!

Week 7

Baby girl, these last seven weeks have been pure bliss for your dad and I! You have seriously grown so much and your little personality is the cutest! You are smiling a lot more and it melts my heart every time I see it!

You slept through the night for the first time this week and mama loved it! You had a couple of fussy days where nothing would make you happy unless you were eating (sounds like mama on some days! Ha!).

I had to start back to work this week (just one five hour shift) and Grammy watched you! I absolutely don't like leaving you but I am so thankful that your Grammy gets to watch you. I would have a really hard time if I had to take you to daycare! Grammy played with you and made a painting with your footprints, it was so beautiful!

Mama's friend, Lindsey came over to visit and to take our pictures in your nursery. The pictures turned out beautiful even though you were being fussy the entire time! All you needed was a warm bath and some milk for you to settle down!

As much as I want you to stay our little baby, I am looking forward to you growing and having all of your big milestones! I can not wait to hear you laugh for the first time! Baby giggles is one of my favorite things, ahh!!! I love to watch you make your silly facial expressions while you are sleeping, you are so stinkin cute!

Mama and Daddy love you so much, love bug :)

Week 6

Oh my goodness, six weeks already?! This was a pretty busy week because we had two very important birthdays to celebrate and get ready for, Grammy and Aunt Meg's! I had said I would make dinner and have cake and ice cream at our house so I had to get to the grocery store to pick up everything I needed, of course I had to make a couple trips and I still forgot a couple things! Ugh! Keigan was a little trooper and was awake for most of the night, she didn't want to miss anything!

Saturday was the big WVU vs. Baylor football game & my sister and her boyfriend came over to watch the game! Keigan got dressed up in her WVU gear and was the cutest cheerleader I have ever seen :)

Keigan is still sleeping and eating like a champ! My little baby is growing out of her newborn clothes and moving onto her 3 month clothes ;( She is still in newborn size diapers and once she moves into the size one diapers we may be buying cloth diapers (go ahead and throw up) to save us some money and save the earth :) In the last 6 weeks, we have spent $150 on diapers alone! I can't believe how expensive diapers are and if we would keep her in disposable diapers for 2 years we would be spending approximately $2,400! I don't know about you but I would rather take that money and spend it on cute clothes or Keigan and her momma ;)

Week six was a busy week for us, I'm looking forward to a more relaxing week this week!
