28 Weeks

Holy moly, this week flew!! You are already 28 weeks old!!

There's that pretty smile!

You were SO fun this week! You were content playing for awhile, you cooed just about all day, you love sitting up, and love TV. You are so polite, you don't talk when someone else is. You wait until its quiet and then you just babble away. If someone talks while you are, you stop!
We have been giving you 3 meals a day. It's normally a fruit for breakfast, a fruit OR veggie for lunch, and a veggie for dinner. I think you have a bit of a sweet tooth (I know you don't have any teeth but you get the drift) because you nose dive for the fruits. The veggies are a bit more difficult so I play airplane until you open up! :)
Bath time hit an all time high this week. When I sat you in your tub last night, you sat straight up and played with your toys the entire time. You thought splashing was hysterical. I may need a rain coat soon ;)
Sleep was pretty awful this week. Our routine is after your bath, I nurse you and usually you fall right asleep. You were wide awake this week and if I'd try to lay you in bed, you would cry. I would try to rock you and that didn't work so I'd try to nurse you again until you fell asleep. Then one night you woke up to eat at 3 so I fed you and laid you back in bed, you immediatley woke up and started smiling and talking (it was pretty cute!) and no joke this went on until 4:30am. Not good when I had to work the next morning, I needed my extra cup of coffee that morning!
Your new favorite thing is water! All you want is a taste when I'm drinking a glass! I don't give you much because I read where it's not good for babies to have too much water so just a couple tastes for you but you try grabbing it with your tongue hanging out like Sadie does when she's really thirsty! ;)
I think you love music! We have been jamming to the Disney station on Pandora (it's the bomb, all classics!) and you love when we dance and sing!
Happy 28 weeks pretty girl!
Love you always,
Momma

Playroom Inspiration

When we bought our house almost 2 years ago, we knew we would have to do updates to the entire house. But we also knew it would help us out down the road when we grow out of this house to sell it. Last year, we gutted and remodeled all 3 of our bathrooms, got new carpet in the master bedroom and nursery and painted and got the nursery ready. This year we want to finish our rec room which includes the playroom :) I think I am more excited to decorate and finish the playroom more so than our family rec room! Who doesn't love a fun playroom?! Our playroom won't be big so we have to make sure we use the space wisely! I have been pinning some adorable playrooms on good ol' Pinterest and I'm hoping some of them will become a reality!!
Here is what I have in mind...
All original Pins can be found here

My list of 'must haves' include:
-a reading nook so my little can  read her couple hundred books.
-chalkboard wall
-fun quotes for the wall
-confetti system garland

We are going to be starting on it soon so I will be doing a before/after post so stay tuned! :)

27 Weeks

This was the best smile I got this morning!

Baby girl,
This week was not your best! You were a fuss pants most days! Even on your worst days, if you show me that smile I still melt. I forget about how fussy you are and just eat up that smile. Once Daddy got home from work, he was all yours. I needed to sit and relax for a couple hours minutes.
We had your 6 month check up this week. I love going to see how much you've grown but dread going because I know you will be getting shots. It doesn't easier. Our doctor was out of the combination immunizations so you had to get 5 shots! Poor girl! You were a champ though, as soon as I picked you up, you calmed down. That makes me feel so good! You weigh 14.4lbs (25%) and are 26 inches (65%)! The doctor was pleased that you gained 2.5 lbs these past few months just being on breastmilk. They say most babies should double their birth weight by 6 months and you are well over that so it look like I'm doing my job :)
While we were at the doctor, the nurse asked if you had stranger anxiety yet. I haven't noticed if you had because we are mostly always around family and friends. We don't go out much because of the weather but as soon as she asked, you started to curl that lip and made sure I was still there. It was ironic. And you did the same thing when the doctor came in.
Still no signs of crawling OR teeth! We have been doing crawling practice every day but you don't know that you can do it yourself!
You have been SO chatty this week! I absolutely LOVE it! Your facial expression when you talk is so dramatic and sounds like you are telling me real stories, I just wish I could understand what you are telling me ;)
Your sleep has been good this week! You are back to sleeping through the night. You wake up around 6:30 to eat and then you're up for the day. You were sleeping until 7:30-8:00 every day so getting up an hour earlier every day is starting to get to me.
Happy 27 Weeks Sweet Girl!

6 Months

Seriously, how sweet is she?! Ahh, I could kiss her ALL day!
Weight:
We go for her 6 month check up next week so we will get the official weight then but I'm guessing she's around 14 or 15?
Health:
I would say she's one healthy little girl! Only 1 cold in 6 months is pretty darn good especially with the flu going around and this cold weather.

Diet:
Only breast-milk for this girl the past month. I have tried multiple times to give her cereal and fruits/ veggies but it hurts her stomach too bad. I'm hoping the doctor will tell us what we can try when we go this week! Also, whenever I eat a Fruit Bar Popsicle I let her have a taste, the girl LOVES it! She tries taking it out of my hands!

Crying:
Some days are worse than others. She's been extra fussy this month though. I think it's her teeth?  Hopefully it subsides soon because I miss my happy little babe!
This picture cracks me up!
Sleep:
She sleeps well through the night, only waking once around 3:30-4:00 for a feeding/diaper change and then back down until 7:30. Naps on the other hand.. She takes a few 30 minute naps throughout the day but she won't put herself to sleep. I have to rock her or she just fusses. I think I'm spoiling her? Oops!

Clothes:
She's about out of her 3 month sleepers from Carter's (I know, it's about time right?!). She's wearing just about all 3-6 month everything else. I just washed all of her 6 month sleepers and clothes so we will be switching out the clothes very soon!
Social:
No big outings this month! It's been pretty cold so we have been staying in and just hanging out here. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can actually spend time outside! I'm dreaming of picnics, going to the park and walks outside..

Routine:
3:30-4:00 Eat
7:30 Wake up for the day/ Eat
7:30-9:00 Watch cartoons/ Coffee time :)
9:00-10:00 Get dressed/ playtime
10:00 Eat
10:30-11:00 Nap
11:00-12:00 Playtime
12:00 Eat
12:30-2:30- More playtime
2:30 Eat
2:30-3:15 Nap
3:15-5:00 Playtime
5:00 Eat
5:30-6:00 Nap/ Dinner
6:00-7:30 Playtime with daddy/ My workout time
7:30-8:30 Nap
8:30-9:00 Bathtime
9:00 Eat
9:30 Light's Out
Milestones:
We started sitting up this month!!!! It makes playtime SO much more fun!
I have been pounding "Momma" in her little brain too! Before when she would talk would never make the 'M' sound but yesterday when she was talking, she started saying "mommamommmamomma"! Now I know that she isn't saying that to me but it still is the sweetest sound! It sounds like she's calling to me!
She sat in a shopping cart for the first time! She's not quite strong enough yet to do it all of the time but she loved seeing everything!

Four & Five Month Favorites

The past couple of months, we had a lot of  tethers but no teeth yet! Every one of these items can be considered a teether except for the Ugg's. I don't let her stick her shoes in her mouth but she would if I let her! ;)

All she really does with these right now is suck on them. But they are cute and stick to the side of the tub when wet. I like em!
Once again, she picks them up and sucks the crap out of them! There is no building going on yet! But they are soft and squishy and just plain cute!
Since the weather has been freezing here these days, I never leave the house without these adorable booties and some thick socks. Gotta keep those tootsies warm!
We LOVE Aden + Anais in this house! Who doesn't?! She doesn't NEED to have a blanket but when she does have it, it goes straight to her mouth! Did ya see that one coming?! Im sure all babies put everything in their mouth but she even tries sucks on my nose and chin! Silly girl!
These little teether keys are awesome! We stick them in the fridge and get them cool for her little gums and she seems to love them!
We have only put up a cut up apple in these so far but she seriously is a fan! The first time I gave it to her she drooled all over the place and we had to change her clothes. Bibs are required for these! Other mommies suggested frozen mango and grapes, those are on my grocery list!

I forgot to put Oragel on the list! I have been putting this on her gums when she is extremely fussy and it's like magic. She instantly stops crying. I'm thinking there will be a tooth showing up very shortly!

Valentine's Day & 26 Weeks

Baby girl, you are 26 weeks old today (aka 1/2 year)!! Daddy and I were talking about this last night and we feel like you've only been here for 3 months, so that's what we'll call you! 3 months! :) Jusssst kidding, but really, 1/2 year?!? Before I know it, I'll be planning your FIRST birthday!!!

This week was a little goofy. One day you would be in the best mood & the next you cried alllll day! I left you with Daddy one night while I went to get my hair done and you would NOT take the bottle for him. He said you screamed for a good 30 minutes but when I got home you were fine!  I think you are a momma's girl (which I'm secretly excited about!) but you just don't like dealing with the bottle, you'd rather have it straight from the source!

You are sitting up SO good! Sunday we were practicing but you were still pretty wobbly and then Monday came and it was like a whole new person. We didn't have to hold you and were just sitting up playing with toys, watching your toons, acting like it was no big deal!

I gave you a sippy cup over the weekend just to see if you could hold it. You tried so hard to get it to your mouth but I had to help hold it there. I put a little bit of water in it just to see if you could get it out and you mastered it. Your face was priceless when you got the water, you had no idea what it was and you basically would spit it out. Your shirt was soaked.

Your sleep has been good this week. You go down at 9:30 and wake at 3:30 for a quick feed and are back down until 7:30-8:00. I can handle that!

Well, you will officially be 6 months on Saturday so I'll be back with your 6 month check- in!!

Love you for always!

25 Weeks

Baby girl,
You have mastered the skill of throwing anything that's in your hands on the floor. That's going to be fun when it's your food ;) Anytime you are in your jumperoo, you take your toys and throw them on the ground & then want them back . Silly girl!
You don't like it when I leave the room for anything anymore!  I think you are aware now that I can leave and you don't like that one bit! The only two positions you wanted to be in this week were sitting up or standing. You are really getting the hang of sitting by yourself! I still make sure I'm right there in case you lose your balance from that round bottom of yours!
We haven't given you any cereal or purées this week because every time we give it to you, you have major gas pains and don't go to the bathroom for days, which makes you one crabby baby (but who can blame you?! I would be the same way!). I'm just going to hold off on the solids until we go for your 6 month check up and ask the Dr. About it.
You have become fascinated with logos on shirts. You won't take your eyes off of it when someone has you. You would rather look at the logo than at our faces. I make sure to not wear logos because I want you looking at ME :)

Love you More than you know!!

Sweet Summertime

onetwothreefourfivesixseveneightnine

I have been dreaming of shorts, tanks, flip flops, bathing suits and cocktails since it is a whopping 8 degrees here today. If I could pack my family up and take them all with me, I would be flying south for the winter forever. I hate having to bundle up just to take our dog outside to use the restroom.

I have been doing a little online browsing at all of my favorite baby stores and I am so excited they are coming out with their spring and summer lines! I have already bought some of the items above, but let's face it.. I will probably be buying all of them before summer. They are all just too stinkin' cute!

& I'll leave you with a couple adorable pictures of our little Valentine!
