9 Months || 39 Weeks

9 MONTHS?!
(Excuse me while I go cry in a corner)
Weight:
I would say in the 16-17 lb range. We go for her 9 month check up next week to get her official weigh in. I'm pretty excited for the doctors this time since we don't need ANY shots! We are good to go until she turns 1!
Health:
We have a healthy little peanut! She had a dry cough earlier this  month but didn't turn into anything.
Diet:
Along with her baby food that she gets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, she has been eating more and more "big girl food". I'm not gonna lie, I get really nervous when she eats anything. I have a fear of her choking so I am not in a huge hurry for her to eat human food but I know it's gotta happen so we are doing it slowlyyy. She eats fresh fruit, pancakes, steamed broccoli, cheerios and graham crackers. I think that's all she's had so far?
Crying:
She has her super-crabby-nothing-soothes-her days and they are exhausting. Thankfully, they don't happen often. She also cries when she is over tired and hungry. Just normal baby stuff.
Sleep:
Ok, don't make fun of me but we just started putting her in her crib at night a week ago today. I talked to my blogger friend, Kristin, and read many articles on sleep for a 9 month old and decided she should be sleeping all night without feedings. She was waking up 3,4, 5 times a night and would cry when we would lay her back down. It was exhausting! We decided if she was in her crib, we could let her cry and try to soothe herself. It worked like a charm. The past 2 nights she has slept all night! Whaaaa? Crazy, right? I'm in heaven.
Social:
This past weekend I had my first Mother's Day. We had a day packed with family. What could be better than that? We started by going to breakfast with both of your Grammy's, came home and played for a while and then walked down to visit with Grammy A for a bit then we went to your Great Grandma's for more family time. It was awesome.
Routine:
Our routine is the same as it was when she was 8 months. Nothing has really changed except she sleeps in her crib now. I will be doing "A Day in the Life" post once our kitchen is back in working order.
Milestones:
She has been practicing standing a lot this past week. She will crawl up and stand on something until she knows that she is balanced and then just takes her hands off and stands there. She can do it for about 5-10 seconds. She tries to stand up when she's in the middle of the room, too. I'm not exactly ready for walking just yet so when I see her trying to stand, I have the urge to push her down. Is that bad?!
(I don't actually push her down, FYI.)
 ;)

On to her weekly letter..
Baby girl, you are 39 weeks old (aka 9 months!). I can not believe it. It has been the best 9 months of my life. You are such a little sweetheart, I can't take it.

You are learning new things every day and it's so amazing to see. I am so grateful that I get to be home with you all day, every day to see all of your firsts.

You are such a little adventure seeker. You love exploring and getting into everything. I don't know why we continue to buy you toys. You could care less about them most of the time. Now if we give you a water bottle or a dog toy, you could sit there and play for hours.

Your new thing is bear crawling when you are on a hard surface. You must not like the way it feels on your little knees. You will be crawling normal and as soon as you hit a hard floor, you pick up those little knees and bear crawl. Let me tell you, that is a hard work out! I remember doing that in gym class and I'd be exhausted! Also, when you are crawling you will go face first into the couch or my leg (anything soft) to let you know that you're there and then stand up but you know not to do it with anything that's hard, like the entertainment center or the brick fireplace. Little smarty pants.
You literally want to stand up and walk everywhere now. Crawling is just not cutting it. You can now sit back down when you are standing. Before  you would get scared and need someone to come help you sit back down but you figured out how to do it on your own this week.

You have been sleeping like a champ in your crib. I'm a little mad at myself for not doing this sooner. I don't know if you were just uncomfortable in your pack'n  play or what but you are now sleeping all night! I didn't even think that was possible!

I think your new favorite part of the day is when Daddy gets home from work. It is so sweet to see you light up when you hear his voice. Ughh, heart melting.

Happy 9 Months, sweet girl!
We love you more than anything

Bear crawling..

I walked out of the room to get changed and come back in to her sitting in the shower. I learned my lesson.

    1. She has slept in our room since we brought her home and I was the same way! That's why it took me 9 months. Her sleeping just seemed to be getting worse so I needed to do something about it! But you'll know when you're ready :)

What foods are you feeding Harper?! I like hearing what other babies are eating because I feel like I can't think of ideas. Lol
