48 & 49 Weeks

So, I missed last weeks update because I was crazy busy with work, birthday planning and keeping up with house work that I never got around to doing your 48 week update.  So here we are, your 48 & 49 week letter!!!

Baby girl, let's just get down to it... I'm obsessed with you. I love every little thing that you do. Your little personality is such a mixture of ornery (which you totally get from your dad) and sweet and I could just eat you up!

You literally get into everything you know you're not allowed to get into. You don't want your toys because duh... you're allowed to have them!! Our house looks like a little hurricane Keigan came threw 99% of the time now. That's okay because you're cute!

You are 100% off of the breastmilk!! Huuuge step for both of us! I've been okay about weaning you but it's hard taking away the bedtime feeding since that has been our routine for over 11 months now. You are just growing up right before our eyes.

Last week your great grandparents watched you for the first time while I went to work and you were awesome (or so they say!). They are going to help watch you while I go to school in the fall so it was a relief to hear you do so well with them (not that I thought you wouldn't but it sure helps knowing that you don't give them a hard time while I'm away!)

You have been saying dadada a lot more but you don't actually know to call daddy that. You love to wave and take Sadie's balls from her, you love taking the tupperware out and dragging it all over the house, you are becoming quite the little squealer & I love it.

Daddy always says that you get the most kisses out of any baby EVER & this is true. We are constantly giving you kisses because you are always just so dang cute (even when you are crying and so mad at us!).

I can't believe that in 3 very short weeks our little 6 lb baby will be ONE. You have made this past year the most memorable and best year of our lives. Thank you so much baby girl!!

11 Month Update

As of yesterday, I have myself an 11 month old! It is so hard to believe. She is a walking, talking baby talking machine. She still has not said any true real words that I recognize but I have heard that babies usually will either be mobile and not talk for a while or vice versa so it looks like my child would rather walk around getting into everything rather than talking to us. I'm still waiting for the time she calls me "Mama" for the first time. I. will. die. She can practically run around now and I get my workout by chasing her around all day. Well, let's get on to the update!

Just for the record, she will NOT look at me for pictures anymore!

Well, let's get on to the update!

Weight:
I would say in the 18-19 lb range? Let's just say she gives my arms a good workout when I hold her for long periods!

Health:
She had her first high fever (102) three weeks ago and I was certain it had something to do with her upper teeth coming in but we still haven't seen a tooth poke through yet so that may have just been a little flu bug that she caught. Also, a few days ago she got her first diaper rash. Again, I don't know if it's her teeth or the cow milk is getting to her?

Diet:
A lot has changed since last month! I planned on nursing for one year but I want her to be weaned off by the time I start back to school at the end of August so when I talked to her doctor he said I could start Mid-July with weaning her onto cow milk (I didn't want to have to go through weaning her onto formula then right onto cow milk). She has developed a diaper rash a few days ago and I have to think it has to do with the cow milk so I called her doctor yesterday to see what I should do and he told me to keep giving her the milk like I have been doing that it's just her body getting used to drinking something different.

Crying:
She has days where she cries all day if I'm not holding her or in the same room and then other days she's in the best mood and could care less if I walk out of the room. Other than that she just plays and talks to herself most of the time!

Crying because she wants to be outside  playing  the rain!

Sleep:
She is finalllly on a sleep schedule! It only took 11 months but we finally have it down! She sleeps through the night from 9p-7a. She has 2-3 naps through the day also. We have all caught up on our sleep.

Oh hi you cutie pie!

Social:
This past month we took our first vacation to the mountains in Virginia and had her first 4th of July. We have also been going to the pool every chance we get and of course hit up the mall when it's been a raining like cats and dogs. She's been quite the social butterfly this month!

Routine:
7a: Wake up, Nurse
8a: Breakfast
9a: Playtime
10a: Nap
11a: Nurse, Playtime
12p: Lunch
1p: Naptime
2p: Snack
3p: Playtime, Pooltime
4p: Nurse
5p: Dinner
6p: Playtime with Daddy
8p: Bathtime
9p: Bedtime

Milestones:
Of course, the biggest milestone is walking like a champ!

Weekend Happenings

Sadly the weekend is over and it's back to the work week grind. I usually only work 1 day a week but I've been working 3-4 days a week the past 2 weeks due to vacations. I'm loving the extra money but hate leaving my girl so much!

I had to work Friday so by the time I got home I was ready for a drink or ten but first I wanted to do a little retail therapy. We picked up our canvas family portrait and picked up a few other things before heading home.

We saw sunshine when we woke up Saturday which was a nice surprise considering its been raining for what feels like the past month! We love the weekends because we can actually sit down and have breakfast together! We enjoyed some of the best blueberry pancakes, Dave sure knows how to make 'em! Mmmm :)

After I did a little cleaning and went for a long walk with my mom, Keigan and I went to Dave's all-star roller hockey game! She loves walking around and just checking everybody out! After the game Dave took Keigan for a couple laps around the rink. She loved it! Future Hockey fan in the making?!
We ended our Saturday with hosting game night with our friends. We loveee game nights! :)

Even though we didn't get to bed until after midnight, Keigan was up bright and early at 7am. I think that called for a donut and coffee run!

& we spent our 90 degree afternoon poolside.

The sun must have wore the babe out because she slept from 5-6:30 which never happens, she's more of a 30 minute napper. We spent the rest of our night relaxing and getting ready for the week ahead (oh, and watching Big Brother!).

I hope everyone had a great weekend and we got Monday out of the way! Let's hope the rest of the week goes by fast because I'm already ready for the weekend! :)

47 Weeks

Oh, hello you happy girl!

Well, another week came and went! I think they get faster and faster & you get more and more beautiful each week (which I don't even know how that's possible!)!!

We have been in full blown birthday planning mode lately. I have been crafting and getting things together so that I'm not frantically running around 1 week prior. I have been searching and searching for a wooden highchair that I can paint to go along with your theme and I finally found one that is exactly what I was looking for with the right price tag on it butttt it was 2 hours away. I have been eyeing it up every day and I finally bit the bullet and drove to get it. I had Grammy go with us for the drive so that if you got antsy, at least someone could sit back there and entertain you. I'm so excited to get it painted and see how everything turns out! Your birthday (& mine) is approaching rather quickly!!

You have been sleeping like a champ and are doing so well with the transition from breast milk to cow milk. I was shocked at how well you are taking the sippy cup with milk after your morning  and afternoon nap. I absolutely loved being able to feed you and give you the best nourishment  that I could but I know it's got to come to an end and seeing you do so well with it is making it so much easier on me!

Now that you don't ever sit still and play with toys, it has made it near impossible to get a shower when it's just you and I at home. I literally have to wait for daddy to come home before I can get my shower (if I want to have a relaxing shower that is). You will get into everything. You love flushing the toilet, getting into the trash, pulling on the toilet paper, getting into the vanity and pulling out everything that you can get your little paws on, try getting into the shower with me, and the list can go on! The days of having a relaxing shower are longgg gone!

Next week you will be 11 months old!! <tear> You are seriously the light of our lives. You are so smart and have the cutest, sweetest personality. Love, love, love you baby girl!!!!

46 Weeks

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!!
Baby girl, you are 46 weeks old today and celebrated your first Independence Day! We celebrated by eating a red, white & blue breakfast (strawberries, blueberries & bananas of course!), did a little retail therapy, hit up the pool, ate some yummy barbecue chicken and ended the day with some fireworks!

There are no new milestones this week, except maybe walking/running a little faster now! You don't want to be held anymore unless your tired. I secretly go cry in the corner because I know it will just get worse.

You have been in the best mood this week. You don't scream when I leave the room like you used to! It's made doing chores and making dinner so much easier, so thank you girlfriend!
You do not play with your toys at all anymore,  your new favorites are your diaper bag, magazines, Sadie's toys, mama's makeup, pens (with closed lids of course!), just about anything that isn't your toy!

On Monday we started the weaning process from breastmilk to cow milk. We started by taking out the afternoon feeding and replaced it with 1 oz of cow milk with 3 oz of breastmilk in a sippy cup. The first day you threw a fit when I tried giving you the sippy but after 20 minutes of crying you eventually took to it. You are becoming such a big girl right before my eyes.

You have been making this huffy puffy noise when you play with toys (or my purse) that cracks us up! It sounds like you are so out of breath and you just climbed a set of stairs! Silly, silly girl!

In just 6 weeks you will be turning ONE! Every time I look at you I can't believe how lucky we were to get such a beautiful & smart little girl! We love you so much sweet girl!

Xoxo,
Mama
